<description>I live in Harrison County Ky. Our local Shelter (Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter) has been overrun in the past with animals. Most volunteers focused on the dogs and no one did anything for the cats. I started raising money and getting as many cats as I could spayed / neutered and rabies vaccinated. This seemed to help get the cats adopted more. I have been taking care to make sure every cat that comes into the shelter gets posted on Petfinder and has a chance to be adopted.
I even foster as many as I can so that they will not fill up and put cats down. I have hit a brick wall. It seems like the shelter is fighting me on how many cats I can get placed or help. They will put them down rather than let me help them by spay and neuter all that we raise money for. I am even having problems getting them to release the animals to rescues that are interested in the cats. I am flying blind and I am not real sure what it is I need to do legally or what steps I can take to get these animals out of there. I have been saving money and I will be able to build my catery this spring. It is not going to be anything big. I will be able to house 20 cats at once and that is all. This is all I will be able to handle and still be able to feed them and buy the cat litter and if any of them get sick it is a bigger expense. I have completed our 501(c)3 app with all the required paperwork for our fund. ( Pennies for Pooches &amp; Coins for Cats ) We are trying to raise the money to file the app. There is a 400.00 filing fee. We have 150.00 of it. I need to know what I need legally to operate my small catery at my home. I have 10 acres and it is zoned farm land. I am assuming it will be ok to do this. I am not aware of any liscense I may need. If you have any suggesstions or advise I would really appreciate it. I was referred to you by Bev with the UR_KY . She said that you knew everything cat. Do you have anything I can look up on the laws for kill shelters working with rescues? Is there anything that says if a rescue is interested in an animal that the shelter needs to comply? This would really help. I am getting the feeling it is all about the numbers with them and not saving the animals. Please advise and help if you can. My contact info is 859-235-8365 after 7PM and 859-588-0021 during the weekdays. My cell does not pick up where I live. I am in the middle of big cedar woods and no reception down in there. It is paradise but hard to get out in the winter. My animals just love it there. Privacy and plenty of room to run and play safely.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer me

		<description>Hi Victoria,

The new website looks fantastic!!!
Im seeing that we are stuck in second place after a meteoric rise from #8 when we first started voting.
We only have 2 computers in our building but we have been voting every day.
All my buddies always ask about Squeak and how he&#039;s doing.
Bless you for all the wonderful things you do for the animals.....
